John

Gianluca Pampagnin aka John D. Luke was born and raised in a small, nevertheless beautiful village in the north east of Italy called Padova.

John D. Luke has always had a very fine musical acumen, in fact, from the age of 6 he taught himself how to play the keyboard only then to move on to the guitar at the age of 12.

Inspired by the best of Rock, at 14 he started to play as drummer in his first band “New Grange”, successively dropping out only to improve his skills in a school for drummers.

After being in a few rock bands, Gianluca noticed the versatility of the electro sound and its several applications. Remaining intrigued by it, he shifted his attention to electronic music and became "John D. Luke".

Here he got inspired by a wide range of musical styles which varied from Jazz to Deep House, experimenting on group projects with other DJs such as "Bloody Beetroots, Maceo Plex, Sven Vath, Ben Clock, Dj Koze, Extrawelt, exc..". This allowed him to stay open to very unique combinations of melodies which compose his first album (in production).

Almost 2 years ago, John moved to London and now along with producing music, he would like to perform again for the coolest clubs in the up and coming areas of London.

“I decided to move to London because I felt the need for confrontation with different and experienced artists; authors of a more underground sound... I needed to find my sound. I have numerous projects, one of which is a combination of the finest techno-melodic music from Berlin with the guitar sound composed by my friend and artist, Giacomo.”
