Hailing from the west coast and originally from the 808 State of Hawaii, Queen Bee brings a cross-genre blend of Breaks, House, Drum & Bass and Hip-Hop. She was motivated to become a DJ by over two decades of her own dance floor denizenship and infuses a lifetime of passion for music into every set she plays. Through weaving stories into her soundscapes, she strives to engage active listening from her audience, and to compel them to dance along with her.

Queen Bee began producing dance music events within Seattle's mid-90s era underground rave scene and persists with this today as a founding member of the Samizdat Collective, who've hosted several events in the city since their formation in 2017. Driven by the belief that artistic self-expression should be accessible to everyone, she also hosts a monthly event that anyone seeking to learn and grow collaboratively with other DJs and music makers is invited to participate in.

United by a mutual love for polyrhythm and low-end frequencies, Queen Bee partners creatively with Macksimal as the tag-team duo Harbingers of Boom. She also jams with DJ Dat/MELd, known together as Squirrel One and Squirrel Two of the Acorn Mafia. They produce original Drum & Bass remixes and lay down roof-raising Breakbeat sets.

Before COVID-19 made it impossible to gather, you could catch her, the Harbingers, and the Acorn Mafia thumping at events and festivals in the northwest year-round. Hopefully this will be a possibility again someday soon!
