Hi, my name is Darren and am working as a free lance session guitarist, bassist and ukulele player, sound engineer, composer and producer for a variety of genres, experienced both on the stage and in studio and an enthusiastic Composer and song writer.
Starting relatively late, I picked up my main instrument, Guitar, at the age of thirteen, picking up Bass and Ukulele later. With very efficient teachers and mentors, I have grown to a level of musicianship that I never thought I was capable of reaching. Striving to go further, I have not limited myself to any particular genres, however the website has done it unfortunately.
As of October 2013, I will have received both the BaMus and BMus degrees from the University College Cork School of Music and Theatre, accomplished between 2009 and 2013. Over the past few years with UCC, I have found my place in performance and in February 2012 I was awarded the Donal "Doc" Gleeson Award for performance. Also in my time in UCC, I studied under master engineers and producers to learn the skills required to enter the world of producing.
Very quickly I began to perform music with various groups, ensembles and people, for reasons of promoting my own music, and for others such as charity events and session work. This lead to me pushing further with production in terms of sound design, editing, mixing and mastering, in all areas of music.
Hope to talk soon.
Darren
