Mike Aubé is an alt-folk songwriter on a mission to “comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable”. He blends humour, a sense of social justice and a love of nature into what Canadian Musician Magazine called “playful and catchy folk…clearly Canadian”.

Mike was not always headed for a career in music. He holds a Masters degree in Kinesiology and taught briefly at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. But the call of songwriting was too strong. Since leaving academia, Mike has delivered four albums of good clean fun with tales of love gone right, love gone wrong, cell phone addiction, falling asleep in front of the TV, and a dashboard Jesus looking out on road. Drawing from folk, rock, funk and bluegrass, Mike will take you on a rambling jaunt that veers a little to the left of the ordinary.

With a “voice of smoke and honey”, a rhythmic guitar style and an easy stage presence, Mike is one of Nova Scotia’s finest performing songwriters. He has shared the stage with some best in Atlantic Canada, including Dave Gunning, Rose Cousins, Kev Corbett and The Human Brothers Band.
